Transaction Fees

Every transaction processed through Spaire carries a fee of 4% + €0.40, applied to the full transaction amount including tax.

Additional fees

• +1.5% for international cards (non-European)
• +0.5% for subscription payments

A customer in France subscribes to a €30/month plan. France has a 20% VAT rate on digital services.

Spaire handles the VAT collection and remittance to the French tax authorities — you never touch it.

Refunds

You can issue full or partial refunds at any time from the dashboard or via the API. The original transaction fees are not returned to you — card networks and payment processors charge those regardless of a later refund.

Spaire also reserves the right to issue refunds on your behalf within 60 days of purchase, strictly to reduce disputes and chargebacks. We only exercise this in the interest of protecting your chargeback rate and keeping fees low.

Disputes & chargebacks

When a customer opens a dispute through their bank, a €15 flat fee is charged per dispute regardless of outcome. This fee comes from the card networks and cannot be waived.

Spaire actively monitors chargeback rates across the platform and works to keep them below industry thresholds (~0.7%). Because we’re the Merchant of Record, a high chargeback rate on your account affects the whole platform — so if your rate approaches that threshold, we’ll reach out and may need to take action including account suspension until the rate is resolved.

Payout Fees

Spaire does not add any markup on payouts. The fees below are charged by Stripe (our payout provider) and passed through at cost.

Payouts are manual by default — you choose when to withdraw your balance. If you leave a balance sitting for several months without withdrawing, Spaire will eventually trigger a payout on your behalf.
